Cancer Survivors Night with the Cornbelters!
A GREAT BIG THANK YOU to all who came and participated in the 3rd Annual Community Cancer Center’s Cancer Survivors Night at the Corn Crib. The evening game on May 27th, 2012 was hosted by the Community Cancer Center, Normal Cornbelters, Infinity Print Group, Inc. and other businesses in the area.
Those who participated, shared in an early celebration of a worldwide “Celebration of Life”! Hundreds of communities throughout the United States, Canada and other participating countries will be recognizing the importance of National Cancer Survivors Day on or around June 3rd, 2012. The Bloomington/Normal community participated in an early symbolic event to show the world that life after a cancer diagnosis can be a reality. We enjoyed celebrating life and survivorship with those who have already beaten and those currently battling cancer last Sunday.
The night was filled with excitement as the Normal Cornbelter’s defeated the Southern Illinois Miners. All cancer survivors were able to participate in a “call to the field” in celebration of their survivorship. A fundraiser
raffle took place to raise funds for the Community Cancer Center with prizes of tickets to the Cornbelter’s Home Run Derby, a visit by Corny to a child’s birthday party, coloring book with stickers, etc. We appreciated your support and hope you enjoyed the game!
